Offer Description

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position (1 year with the possibility of extension) in the field of synthetic organic chemistry with a focus on the stereoselective synthesis of chiral pentahelicenes using C–H activation. This is a project within the research group of Prof. Martin Putala (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4596-6752) in the Laboratory of Organic Optoelectronic Materials at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Comenius University in Bratislava https://fns.uniba.sk/en/departments/chemistry/kor/research/laboratory-of-organic-optoelectronic-materials/). This will involve the development of an innovative synthesis of chiral naphthochrysenes and naphthoperylenes, using stereoselective C-H arylation as a key step. The aim is to make available a new class of chiral molecular fluorescent materials with potential application in optoelectronics with the use of environmentally sustainable synthetic methods.
