Jujutsu Kaisen: Gojo’s Character Development Through Weaker Return
Out of all the theories proposed regarding Gojo’s comeback, this one is the most suitable. It suggests that Gojo Satoru has returned to the battlefront to oversee the final showdown. However, it is important to note that he is no longer the most powerful sorcerer, and this is precisely the reason for his return. The explanation for this is also logical.
Initially, the fact that he returned weaker than before serves as the necessary character development. He perished in battle with unmet aspirations – his ultimate desire was to witness a transformed Jujutsu society and he needed to inform Megumi about his father. Additionally, his affection for his students motivated him to not want them to suffer and ultimately meet their demise in the conflict. This provides a compelling justification for his unwillingness to remain deceased.
It is believed that prior to his death, he made a Binding Vow to sacrifice one of his Six Eyes in order to be brought back to life. He understood that this would mean he would not be exactly the same as before, but he accepted this outcome. Although he would not be the strongest, he also wouldn’t be the original Gojo Satoru.
His character development would greatly benefit from all of this, which was exactly what he needed. In the past, he had become known as “the Strongest”by learning to depend on himself and no one else. However, if he were to return in this manner, he would have to rely on his comrades once again and not go at it alone.
