Skyline Releases Winter and Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams

5.15.24

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Skyline conference released its Winter/Spring All-Sportsmanship Teams on Wednesday afternoon, naming six Gryphons in the report.

Braden Burman of the men's basketball team was named to the conference's all-sportsmanship team after helping the Gryphons reach the conference semifinals and having his best individual season to date.

For the women's basketball team, Grace Carter joined her fellow sophomore Burman. When not on the court, Carter is also an all-conference level midfielder for the Sarah Lawrence women's soccer team.

For men's volleyball, senior Lukas Gates was named in the report. Gates's SLC career ends with him near the top of the career digs mark and his leadership over the past two seasons allowed the program to reach new heights.

For women's swimming, senior Genevieve Chiappetta took home the honor after an amazing season and career as a Gryphon. Chiappetta is a record holder for SLC in the 200 freestyle relay and completed her second straight season as a Skyline all-conference swimmer.

The Sarah Lawrence softball team saw captain Anna Brand take home the award. Brand, a senior from West Milford, N.J., had her best season as a Gryphon this year, batting .280 with four extra-base hits and throwing out five runners from behind the plate.

Nikita Knecht was honored as a member of the Sarah Lawrence men's tennis team. Knecht matched up with Vance Johnson late in the season for a close 8-6 doubles win in addition to earning an 8-5 victory in singles as he helped the Gryphons defeat Lehman 8-1.
