This is for those of you who use dating apps. There is an interesting survey that has revealed some startling information for those of you on a dating app. Ever wondered what your expectations are when you enter a dating app or do you go with the flow?

Dating App Tinder has revealed in one of their surveys that both men and women have misconceptions about what the other wants. This has been reported by ‘USA Today’. The Green Flags Study which was released on Wednesday surveyed over 8000 heterosexual men and women in the US, Canada, UK and Australia to understand the preferences of each other and found out that individuals are quick to make assumptions of the opposite sex.

    Key Findings:

The priorities are clear. 53% of the males and 68% of the female respondents sought a romantic relationship. Often when one enters a dating app, they are confused on what exactly they expect. Many women (65%) believe that men are only looking for casual flings whereas among men who responded, this number stood at 29%. This is less than half of the women respondents who believed that men sought casual flings.

Additionally, over half of the men believed that less than half of the women were looking for a romantic relationship.

    Assumption Epidemic:

It was also found that the users are quick to make assumptions about each other. The respondents admitted to making assumptions about each other and jumping to conclusions which were wrong in the long run. An assumption men often made was that women tend to consider only their height and job titles while choosing partners. This was incorrect as only 34% of the women who responded stated that height was a major factor in partner selection and 31% considered job titles.

    Other Findings?

Were you ever worried about giving out that compliment? Go ahead as 55% of the women and 35% of men valued sincere compliments. Another golden rule is putting away that phone as 55% of the women and 34% of the men preferred to put away the phone during a one on one date.
