From Rhea Ripley to Bobby Lashley, check out the complete list of top 5 WWE superstars who got injured in 2024

Amidst all the success in recent times, WWE has been dealing with a serious issue in 2024, as many of their top stars have been injured, forcing them to change the trajectory of multiple running storylines.

Ever since Paul Levesque, a.k.a. Triple H, took over the creative control of the company following Vince McMahon, WWE has seemed to get their flair back, which, according to the fans, was missing for quite some time now. Superstars are getting more freedom in their storylines, and fans are more interested than ever in the direction in which the company is going. WWE has also recorded their most successful PLE (Premier Live Event) in the form of WrestleMania 40 and a solid follow-up PLE in Backlash 2024. However, amidst all the success, WWE has been dealing with a serious issue in 2024, as many of their top stars have been injured, forcing them to change the trajectory of multiple running storylines. The CM Punk vs Seth Rollins feud is one of the biggest examples of that.

Here is the list of the top 5 superstars injured in 2024, piling up WWE’s misery even further.

5] Bobby Lashley

The All Mighty, “Bobby Lashley,” picked up a momentum-shifting victory over The Final Testament and the Street Profits in WrestleMania 40. Bobby was supposed to take part in the 2024 King of the Ring tournament and face The Bloodline’s member Tama Tonga in the first-round match. However, before the show went online, the SmackDown General Manager, Nick Aldis, through an Instagram post, announced that Bobby Lashley was not medically fit to compete in the match and would be replaced by his fellow Pride faction member, Angelo Dawkins. Even though the nature and extent of Bobby’s injury are still unknown, it might take some time before we can see The All Mighty back in the ring.

4] Zalina Vega

The LWO (Latino World Order) and the current WWE Queen of the Ring, Zalina Vega, suffered the same fate as Bobby Lashley, as just before her scheduled 2024 Queen of the Ring match against Shayna Baszler, Raw General Manager Adam Pierce through an Instagram post announced that Vega is medically not cleared to take part in the tournament and will be replaced by Alpha Academy’s Maxine Dupree in the tournament. Just like Booby, the extent and nature of Vega’s injury are unknown by the time this story is being written. Zalina apologised to her fans through her Instagram story, writing, “Sorry Guys.”

3] CM Punk

Ever since the best in the world made his return at the WWE Survivor Series 2023, PLE, a potential feud between him and the then WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, was teased, given the real-life tension between the two stars. Notably, the two superstars were supposed to take on each other at WrestleMania 40, but Punk picked up an elbow injury during the 2024 Royal Rumble, forcing WWE to switch his place with Drew McIntyre. However, despite his injury, CM Punk has been constantly seen on WWE shows and is currently in a feud with Drew McIntyre. Apparently, Punk has now cost Drew his WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania and a shot at the title on the Raw following Mania. Punk said his elbow is healing perfectly, but his exact return date to the in-ring action is still unknown.

2] Drew McIntrye

The Scottish Warrior, Drew McIntyre, who picked up a win and loss both inside five minutes at WrestleMania 40, was on the path of destruction after Punk cost him the WWE World Heavyweight Championship twice. However, Drew ultimately joined the same list his rival Punk is on, i.e., the injured superstar list, and not just that his injury is also identical to Punk’s as he also picked up an elbow injury, the only difference being Drew still took part in the action for some time despite his injury before finally getting sidelined of the King of the Ring tournament action. Adding salt to Drew’s wounds, another WWE superstar, whom Drew can’t stand, Jey Uso, replaced him in the tournament and managed to reach the semi-finals of the competition. Drew is currently in a passive feud storyline with Punk, along with a sure shot WWE World Heavyweight Championship title shot in hand, courtesy of the current champion, Damien Priest. The only problem is that the exact date of his return is still unknown.

1] Rhea Ripley

No other female WWE superstar has been able to operate at the level the former WWE Women’s World Heavyweight Champion, Rhea Ripley, has operated in the last 12 to 15 months. Rhea was leagues ahead with both her character and the crowd support. She even pinned the only superstar who can challenge her charisma at the moment, Becky Lynch, at WrestleMania. However, Rhea also fell victim to WWE’s injury bug when she injured her shoulder following Liv Morgan’s backstage attack on Raw after Mania. Rhea was ultimately ruled out of WWE for 10 to 12 months and was even forced to vacate her WWE Women’s World Heavyweight title, which was later won by her WrestleMania 40 opponent, Becky Lynch.
