When it comes to fighting battles, it is important for heroes to come together, combine their quirks, and support each other to achieve maximum success. Fans have seen Midoriya and Bakugo — rivals as far as Bakugo is concerned — put aside their differences to ensure they come out victorious in their battles against their enemies, or even their teacher or friends during hero training sessions.

Each individual in My Hero Academia with quirks has their own individual strengths and capacities, but they can unlock so much more when they collaborate with individuals whose quirks support or complement them. Teamwork saves them time and makes achieving their shared goals easier.

7 Ochaco Uraraka & Tsuyu Asui

Zero Gravity and Frog Tongue

Ochaco Uraraka And Tsuyu Asui

Ochaco Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui are classmates who become close friends. These two girls are dedicated to supporting and protecting each other, and as My Hero Academia progresses, fans see their relationship getting stronger. In battle, these two girls have often combined their quirks, and they even have an ultimate move called Meteor Fafrotskies.

Uraraka’s zero-gravity quirk allows her to make whatever she touches weightless and float. Asui’s frog quirk allows her to do whatever a frog can do. One of those things is a long, strong tongue capable of lifting a human being. Considering that they are usually in battle together, these girls make fighting easier by combining their quirks. Uraraka uses her zero gravity quirk to make debris float, while Asui uses her frog tongue to fling the debris at their enemies, making it easier to overcome their opponent.

6 Ochaco Uraraka & Izuku Midoriya

Zero Gravity and All for One

Ochaco Uraraka And Izuku Midoriya

Uraraka is always looking out for Deku, and vice versa. These two have been in battle countless times, and no doubt they use their quirks to support each other, especially as Uraraka’s zero gravity quirk is a highly supportive one.

During their fights together, Uraraka has been seen giving Midoriya a boost by making him float, reducing some of the injuries that he can sustain, since his quirk is still too powerful for him. Using zero gravity, she reduces the amount of debris that might obstruct them from effectively fighting back. She also uses them as a weapon, launching attacks on their enemies, while Midoriya uses his quirk.

5 Mina Ashido & Minoru Mineta

Acid and Pop Off

Mina Ashido And Minoru Mineta

Minoru and Mina combined their quirks during the joint training battle, and made an ultimate move called the Grape Pinky Combo Mineta Bounce. Mina’s quirk allows her to create and spew corrosive liquid. With this, she has an ultimate move that allows her to dissolve the ground underneath her shoes, making her spin and, in turn, throwing weapons at her opponents with incredible speed. It is at this final step that Minoru comes in and places his sticky balls around the acid, laying the perfect trap for their opponents.

Horn Cannon and Steel

Pony Tsunotori and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu

Pony’s Horn Cannon allows her to shoot horns out of her head. She can control and determine the speed of these horns. Meanwhile, Tetsutetsu’s Steel quirk allows him to turn his body into steel. During the joint training battle, they combined their quirks during their battle with Shoto Todoroki.

This combination made by these Class 1-B students formed an ultimate move called the Horn Dash Hammer. Tetsutetsu activates his quirk and turns his body into steel, while Pony uses her horns to move him at a controlled and fast speed toward their opponent — in this case, Todoroki. This combination is quite powerful, as it gives them the ability to break through any type of obstacle and slam into their enemy without Tetsutetsu feeling any pain.

3 Todoroki & Yaoyorozu

Half-Hot Half-Cold, and Creation

Todoroki and Yaoyorozu My Hero Academia

Yaoyorozu can be timid sometimes, while Todoroki is more outspoken and quick to make decisions. These two were paired up to fight against Eraserhead, their teacher, also known as Shota Aizawa. During this battle, Yaoyorozu had an idea, but she was too shy to mention anything and went ahead with Todoroki’s plan. After his plan failed, she wanted to speak up. Thankfully, Todoroki urged her to speak, and she finally did.

With her creation quirk and his half-hot quirk, they were able to capture and defeat Aizawa. Yaoyorozu created Aizawa’s weapon, his binding ropes. When Aizawa was in their sight, she urged Todoroki to unleash his flames, which caused the ropes to revert to their shapes. This trapped Aizawa, and granting Todoroki and Yaoyorozu victory.

At the same time, they punched Stain, defeating him and handing him over to the authorities. Without utilizing and combining their quirks, these three would not have been able to take control of the battle.

1 Tsuyu Asui & Tokoyami Fumigake

Frog and Dark Shadow

Tsuyu Asui and Tokoyami Fumigake

Tsuyu and Tokoyami were paired together to fight against Ectoplasm, a teacher at UA High, during the first-term final exam. During this battle, they worked well to fight off the clones the Ectoplasm created. Tsuyu used her strong tongue to move Tokoyami’s dark shadow out of harm's way, and she also used her tongue to fight off the clones that Tokoyami was having a hard time with.

This battle with Ectoplsm was a tough one, and without combining their quirks, they would not have stood a chance against him. After claiming victory, Ectoplasm had to commend them for their teamwork.
