TEKOA, Wash. — Residents in Tekoa, Washington are in for a treat this week as a feature movie will be filmed in the city. Black Bear Pictures and Kamala Films will shoot a movie titled “Train Dreams” on Wednesday and Thursday.
Filming will take place at Henkle Street between Crosby Street and the alley to the east. Production will also take up the Brotherton Seed buildings, the parking lot and Empire Theater. Filmmakers are requesting that people not park on Crosby Street on either side near the Empire Theater from 4-9 p.m. on May 9.
According to producers, the movie is an adaptation of Denis Johnson's novella about Robert Grainier, an average man living in extraordinary times, who worked as a day laborer in the American West at the beginning of the 20th century.
The movie will star William H. Macy, Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones, Kerry Condon and Clifton Collins.
