Assassin's Creed 2 was a major leap forward for Ubisoft's famous series, but it set some expectations that haven't been satisfied.

Ubisoft Accidentally Leaks Another Game's Release Date

Some fans have immediately realized that the description of Ubisoft Italy's video mentioned the game's apparent release date, November 15. The company removed that prematurely shared tidbit within minutes of it going live, but not before screenshots of its mishap started making the rounds on social media. This is exactly how the Star Wars Outlaws release date leaked online as well back in early April. Assuming the redacted blurb was accurate, Assassin's Creed Shadows will be the first new mainline entry in the franchise to release on November 15 since Assassin's Creed Revelations did the same back in 2011.

Assassin's Creed Shadows Season Pass Rumored to Cost $40

The game's official title had actually leaked as well earlier today, having been revealed by dataminer Frax (AKA fraxR6) some two hours ahead of Ubisoft's May 13 announcement. The same person also shared some details about Assassin's Creed Shadows' purported DLC plans, starting with the claim that the open-world RPG will launch alongside a $40/€40/£40 season pass. The add-on is said to include a quest called Origami Killer, which Frax believes will be available from day one. Ubisoft has long been including launch-day bonus missions in new AC entries, having most recently done so with The Forty Thieves quest in Assassin's Creed Mirage.

The season pass is also said to include two expansions, both of which are expected to roll out post-release. These larger content additions will alternatively be available for purchase individually at $25 a piece, as per the same source. Frax has also claimed that the upcoming game will offer a pre-order bonus called Thrown to the Dogs, but said they were unclear about whether this is meant to be another exclusive mission or perhaps something along the lines of an item bundle.

The dataminer's info dump was rounded off with a purported list of in-game currency purchases for Assassin's Creed Shadows, which range from 500- to 6600-Helix packs. Microtransactions have long been a controversial topic among Assassin's Creed fandom, but Ubisoft never gave any indication that it intends to stop offering them.

Assassin's Creed

Assassin's Creed is an action-adventure stealth series published and developed by Ubisoft and its various first party studios. Originally releasing in 2007, the series has seen 12 mainline releases with the recent games moving to a more open-world RPG style. Each game typically showcases major historical moments like the Italian Renaissance, Crusades, or French Revolution, focusing mostly on a long standing conflict between the free-minded Assassins against the order loving Knights Templar.
