Any acoustic based musicians out there interested in playing jug band music? We are looking to form a musical collective of like-minded musicians. Mandolin, guitar, fiddle, slide guitar, clarinet, tuba, washtub, trombone, trap drum kit, washboard, percussion.

Jug Band music incorporates early jazz, country blues and ragtime chord changes so a knowledge of music theory is helpful! Some of the tunes have three or four chords, some involve chords such as diminished and augmented. If you have a jazz background these tunes are simple - if you have a blues or rock background, these tunes will seem strange unless you are familiar with the genre. We also play many tunes in horn keys such as Bb, I am not opposed to capos!

Bands such as the Beatles and the Grateful Dead started as Jug Bands or Skiffle groups! Check out The Jim Kweskin Jug Band or The Memphis Jug Band if you are interested.

The Misfits Jug Band are looking for like minded musicians! We play at Farmer's Markets, etc.
