Aaron Eckhart & Devon Sawa Traveling Down ‘Thieves Highway’ – Cannes

EXCLUSIVE: Aaron Eckhart and Devon Sawa are teaming with director Jesse V. Johnson (Chief of Station, Avengement) for Thieves Highway.

Travis Mills’ penned the crime thriller which Corey Large (One Ranger) is producing through his 308 Enterprises banner.

EPs are Kirk Shaw (The Hurt Locker, Papa Hemingway in Cuba, Extraction),  Jordan Nott (Assassination, Cold DeckI) and Jon Keeyes (White Elephant).  BondIt Media Capital and Pink 308 will finance the feature.

Eckhart plays an Oklahoma Stock Detective in over his head in the Breaking Bad world of modern cattle rustling. Eckhart and Johnson previously collaborated on Vertical’s Chief of Station which is currently in theaters and streaming.

Ex-stuntman, Johnson says, “Thieves Highway is a passion project, for Aaron and me. We spent a lot of time developing Travis Mills’ script, embracing factual anecdotes and actual characters to flesh out a vibrant and action-packed modern crime story.”

“Aaron is creating a unique brand starring in high-quality genre pictures, joining the likes of Liam Neeson and Mel Gibson, and we are excited to be part of enhancing that profile with Thieves Highway,” commented Large.  “Jesse’s background in stunts ensures that audiences will experience the story as though they are in the middle of the action.”

Large’s upcoming projects include Barry Levinson’s Assassination which stars Al Pacino and Shia LaBeouf, and action thriller Razor’s Edge starring James Franco and Tommy Lee Jones which is set for a June shoot.

Eckhart’s credits include The Dark Knight, Thank You for Smoking, Midway, London Has Fallen and Olympus Has Fallen and Erin Brockovich.

Sawa starred in New Line Cinema’s Now and Then with Christina Ricci and Thora Birch, Warner Bros.’ Little Giants opposite Rick Moranis, and Warner Bros.’ Wild America with Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Sawa also starred in Sony’s Idle Hands co-starring Seth Green and Jessica Alba, Sony Classics’ SLC Punk opposite Jason Segel and Annabeth Gish, New Line’s Final Destination with Ali Larter, Screen Gems’ Slackers opposite Jason Segel and Jason Schwartzman, Paramount Pictures’ Extreme Ops with Rufus Sewell, The Fanatic with John Travolta, and Lionsgate’s Escape Plan: The Extractors opposite Sylvester Stallone and Dave Bautista.
