Hi everyone
I'm living in the USA but need to make an important phone call which might take more than 30 minutes. Last time I did a call from USA to Switzerland with my US phone number I got billed 40.- for 10min. I know pretty bad subscription I got here but I'm now wondering is there a way I can get a free temporary internet phone number? I know that you can do that with US phone numbers through Google but it seems like Google doesn't offer the same for CH numbers.
I stumbled over netvoip.ch but I'm wondering if there are other (free) services?
This is rather a one time situation than the need of calling multiple times from US to CH.

Use Skype or a calling card. (Mobile phone numbers start with +4176 to +4179 )
Skype charges 3¢ and 24.2¢ per minute for landline and mobile

You might find other/better calling card offers at your local ethnic grocery or newspaper store.

Be aware that Skype is really annoying about having to keep your account active and if you don't use it for i think 6 months they'll close it and take all your minutes.
you dont need a skype account. you can use your microsoft account because its ownrd by them
I've used it before for international calls and it's great!
phonestar.ch works well and is free for the number, just pay per minute you use, you can charge an amount to your account like a prepaid SIM

It's an insurance, im sure I can't reach them through WhatsApp
