Chief Political Officer

Ohio Citizen Action is excited to be seeking a Chief Political Officer to manage Ohio Citizen Action’s political campaign efforts, including developing organizational campaign plans and working with other officers and senior leaders to identify viable funding opportunities. The Chief Political Officer should share our strong commitment to integrating racial equity and social justice into all levels of our work, increasing and nurturing all forms of diversity in our movement, and ensuring an inclusive organizational culture. This role will serve in various coalitions with an eye towards selecting both relevant campaigns and clients that fit OCA’s priorities, and develop and execute winning plans for a wide variety of state and local campaigns. The Chief Political Officer will work with other staff, community leaders, public officials, coalition partners, and member volunteers to create the support necessary to build and win policy reforms, meet funder goals, pass ballot initiatives, elect progressive candidates, and move the mission forward. This is a supervisory role, overseeing the Campaign Strategist, Volunteer Coordinator (new program/upcoming hire), and additional project and campaigns staff, as applicable.

Regional Field Directors

Ohio Citizen Action (OCA) is seeking a Field Canvass Director to lead the organization’s field outreach program. The Field Canvass is responsible for the year-round effort of building rapport within communities and organizing political actions. This is an on-site role with four separate position openings in Columbus, Cincinnati, Toledo, and Dayton Ohio.

Regional Field Staff

Ohio Citizen Action (OCA) is the premier grassroots mobilizing and organizing team in the Midwest. Ohio Citizen Action educates, organizes and mobilizes people to advocate for public interests. In person, by phone, and online, we engage people in actions that protect public health, improve environmental quality, and benefit consumers. Our campaigns connect Ohioans and build a movement to protect democracy and create a sustainable future.

We understand that informed and engaged citizens create the best possible hedge against abuses of government and corporate power, which lie at the heart of most injustice. Therefore, public education and engagement form the foundation of our success. For more than 45 years, we’ve developed our outreach model to integrate field canvassing and follow-up phone canvassing with online organizing. Through each of these methods, we educate people on a particular issue and urge them to take a specific action.
