NEWPORT, Kentucky — Mermaids are heading back to the Newport Aquarium later this month.

The aquarium announced that the beloved characters will be returning Memorial Day weekend. They’ll stay in town through June 23.

The mermaids will be at the aquarium every day except Tuesdays.

The mermaids will bring bubble kisses and tail flips to the Cincinnati/Kentucky area. Newport Aquarium is located at 1 Levee Way in Newport, Kentucky.

Those wanting to visit will be able to see the mermaids swimming alongside hundreds of tropical fish as they enter the Coral Reef Tunnel. The aquarium said the luckiest visitors will receive a magical mermaid bubble kiss.

“As a mom, nothing compares to seeing the joy on your child’s face as they watch a fairytale unfold in front of them,” said Rebecca Foster, Newport Aquarium’s executive director. “That’s what mermaids is all about.”

Visitors will also be able to meet and talk to a mermaid in the Shark Ray Bay Theater as they share their adventures.

More mermaids will be swimming with stingrays for the first time in the Mermaid Cove. There will be an opportunity for visitors to touch the stingrays as they glide by.
