Does your baby sleep with their mouth open?
My baby sleeps with her mouth open and I'm not sure if this is normal or not? Will ask the pediatrician too of course, just curious.
Sometimes her sleep breathing sounds really sound like she's having trouble breathing. I'm trying to get a recording to share with the pediatrician.
mine definitely does and it's the cutest thing ever
Mine does sometimes and I usually try to close it by pressing up under the chin. It’s super cute but I want him to get used to breathing through his nose instead of his mouth.
Mine does as she’s falling asleep. Once she’s fully asleep she closes it and it sounds more normal!
Mine does too
yes! I asked the pediatrician about it with my first and they said it wasn't an issue as long as no snoring
Mine is right now
I’ve read that mouth breathing is not good for mouth development and can affect several things. They say it can be a sign of an oral tie. I’m sure all babies do it sometimes, but if it’s pretty consistent I think a pediatric dentist or pediatric ENT could check things out for baby.
Both of my children have done this. My oldest did have a lip tie. It was revised, I’ve had her tonsils and adenoids checked, she’s seen an ent multiple times, and there’s no clear reason why. People do say it’s a red flag but I think there’s some variability in the population where some people just sleep that way ♀️
Yeah and my mom told me I used to sleep like that as a baby when she saw my son doing it. I still sleep like that when I’m in a goooood sleep lol
Mine right now
