Art is imitating life (or rather, work) for Nicholas Galitzine!

The Idea of You actor revealed in a recently published video interview with British GQ that costar Anne Hathaway gave him a unique and thoughtful gift after they wrapped filming the steamy Michael Showalter-directed romance.

"We had a lot of make-out scenes," said Galitzine, 29. "Oftentimes, our intimacy coordinator would come in and give us a Listerine strip. And we used them so much that Annie was kind enough to commission a painting of Listerine strips for me."

"And now I have that hanging up in my apartment. And I think about that movie every single time I see it," he quipped.

Based on Robinne Lee’s 2017 novel of the same name, The Idea of You has captivated audiences with its love story, particularly the chemistry between Galitzine and Hathaway, 41.

The film follows a 40-year-old mother and art-gallery owner named Solène Marchand (Hathaway), who is grappling with her identity following a messy divorce from husband Daniel (Reid Scott). Things turn around as she takes her 16-year-old daughter Izzy (Ella Rubin) to Coachella and forms a connection with Hayes Campbell (Galitzine), a pop star with headlining boy band August Moon.

As they strike up a romance and jet set around the world, Solène discovers a whole new side of herself. Of course, their relationship isn’t without a few obstacles, as Solène deals with the intrusive spotlight that comes with dating a celebrity — as well as the scrutiny surrounding their age difference, both in the public eye and her own personal circle.

Notably, art plays a big role in their relationship, with Hayes buying all the pieces in Solène's gallery near the beginning of the movie in an attempt to impress her — and even a special piece for Solène herself near the end of the film, before the gallery becomes the setting for its final scene.

At the movie's SXSW premiere back in March, Hathaway told PEOPLE that both she and her character, Soléne, think of themselves as “adventurous” when it comes to love, as she reflected on why making The Idea of You was so important to her.

“In the beginning of the film, the character ... she's really scared of going on that adventure because she's had such a rough experience with her ex-husband," the Oscar winner said. "And so to me, I was incredibly moved by the opportunity to tell the story of a woman blooming."

“I don't know why we don't have more stories about human beings blooming at any age. We're always coming of age, all the time," she added.

The Idea of You is now streaming on Prime Video.
