Earlier this year, A24 dropped a teaser announcing Everyone’s Getting Involved, a tribute album dedicated to the iconic Talking Heads and their 1984 concert movie. Out of all the music tracks in the album, one was revealed to be Miley Cyrus‘ version of “Psycho Killer.”

Now that the album is officially out on streaming platforms, fans are talking about Cyrus’ version of the Talking Heads song, especially its lyrics. Here are all the details you need to know about it!

Last year, A24 received the rights to Stop Making Sense, a live performance concert film by Talking Heads that was highly praised in 1984. Following this, A24 was quick to take to its socials to announce a tribute album on the iconic band’s 40th anniversary.

A24 dropped a short teaser in January. The album received the name Everyone’s Getting Involved, and it consists of 16 covers, including Lorde’s version of “Take Me to the River,” Miley Cyrus’ version of “Psycho Killer,” and The Cavemen’s version of “What a Day That Was.”

This wasn’t the first time fans had seen Cyrus singing the iconic rock song. Her cover version of “Psycho Killer” went viral on the internet. The footage appeared to be from the same Los Angeles Chateau Marmont show where she first performed her recent song “Flowers.”

Cyrus also had the privilege to share the stage with Talking Heads frontman David Byrne during her NBC holiday special in 2023. Along with a number of duets, she performed “Everybody’s Coming to My House” alongside Byrne. This particular song belongs to their American Utopia Album.
