When are the dates of Carnival in 2025?
I don't think they announce the dates for next year until the final festival for the year is over, which is St Croix's in December. This should be the official site, but, like many other sires, it may not be 100% accurate all the time.
It's always last week April/first week May before Lent so the final weekend will be May 1-3rd.
There are so many interesting events that take place before the final weekend, so imo, the entire schedule should be considered. The boat races and kids' activities are fun activities for families. Jouvert and adult parades are for partiers.
kmacc: Yes, you should rent WAY in advance of Carnival, particularly if you're planning on renting on STT. Many visitors come explicitly for Carnival and many Virgin Islanders living stateside come home for the celebrations and every year there are last-minute visitors begging for help finding a rental vehicle.
Hi STT. We always rent a year in advance. Just trying to figure out if we want to deal with the traffic in STT during Carnival to get to Red Hook. I know there is a North route, but not as familiar with it as going through the Front.
I wouldn't be too concerned about it. I'm assuming you're landing in the afternoon and the parade goes along Main Street, back of the waterfront so that won't be affected. Once you're outside town it'll be plain sailing but that's the case most of the year anyway!
