Just for our young patrons, OKM’s “Especially for Kids Festival” will run from May 31-June 6
This very special seven-day Festival has become an integral part of the annual OKM Music Festival held each June. Here are some of the exciting events kids can enjoy at this year’s festival. Find a full schedule at okmmusic.org/especially-for-kids-festival-2024.

Friday, May 31
(Muscogee Creek) Nation Native American Experience: 7 p.m. at Sooner Park Band Shell
Enjoy learning the history and art of Hoop dancing and Muscogee Creek Nation Music. Children will watch and participate in this special Muscogee Creek Native American experience during the kickoff night of SunFest. This event is FREE to those attending.
Saturday, June 1
Winnie the Pooh Tea: 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church
“Oh Bother.” Join us for a whimsical Winnie the Pooh tea party filled with grand games, splendid tea sandwiches, wonderful pastries, delicious “sugar cookie” tea, superb scones and jam, all prepared by Melody’s Creative Cuisine and a glorious harp concert featuring Lorelei Barton. This is a ticketed event.
Keyboard Orchestra: 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church
Come enjoy the big and beautiful sounds of a youth orchestra with winds, strings and brass played on the keyboard. This performance is FREE to those attending.
Sunday, June 2
Twinkle Little Stars Piano Recital: 3 p.m. in Ambler Hall
Lesa Steele and her award-winning students, ages 5-10, will be performing a variety of music by classical and American composers.
Boogie Bingo: 6 p.m.
Get ready to play Boogie Bingo right from the comfort of your own home. This fun twist on Bingo features music categories from different musical genres and eras. Our family friendly, curated playlists, will have you singing, dancing and daubing to the music. Prizes will be given for each round and all families playing will be entered in for a grand prize drawing. Boogie Bingo will be aired live on Bartlesville Radio.
Families should pick up cards and family pizza vouchers from the OKM Music Office, 415 S. Dewey, Bartlesville, OK, May 27-31 between 9-5 p.m.

Tuesday, June 4
Twinkle Big Stars: 6 p.m. in Ambler Hall
Lesa Steele and her award winning students, ages 11-18, will be performing a variety of music by classical and American composers. These shining students are big stars on their way to becoming Super Stars!
Take Flight Puppet Show: 7 p.m. at Hardesty Regional Library in Tulsa
The wonderful StoneLion Puppets will present the “Take Flight” at Hardesty Library. StoneLion’s familiar cabaret-style marionette puppet fun explores the universe with astronauts, aliens, asteroids and even a singing moon. Exciting adventure awaits as we blast off into our solar system and beyond. Interactive family fun!
Wednesday, June 5
Kira’s Song Puppet Show: 10 a.m. at Father Lynch Hall
Join us for Kira’s Song, a sweet and funny story of a young bird, sibling rivalry and the power of the Queens of the Blues.
Mostly Mozart Puppet Show: 2 p.m. at Father Lynch Hall
Join us for a very special story about Mozart and his love for music.
Thursday, June 6
Art and Music Immersion: 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Boots and Brushes
Young patrons will enjoy an exciting art and music immersion experience where music creates colors and art makes sounds. Children will learn about Maria Anna Mozart, who was a child prodigy and a secret composer. Enjoy painting while learning about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s sister and how both children were not only musical geniuses but also had a love of the arts.
Also, on June 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Boots & Brushes, young patrons will enjoy this art and music immersion through the blending of one’s senses. Children will discover the magic of Mozart’s music while the animal orchestra tours the forest playing difference pieces.
Rock N Roll Ice Cream Special and John Bond Tribute: 6 p.m. at Unity Square
Enjoy the sound of Rock n Roll, enjoy yummy Braum’s ice cream and pay tribute to John Bond. FREE to the public.
Saturday, June 8
Melody’s Mostly Musical Day: 10 a.m. at Cascia Hall in Tulsa
Follow Melody through her Mostly Musical waking up, eating breakfast, and visiting Grandma for a piano lesson and a sleepover told by renown pianist, Jenny Lin. Listen to pieces from Tchaikovsky to Mozart to Gershwin.
Pick Up Your Passport!
The OKM Music Especially for Kid’s passport will be available for pickup at the OKM Music office, the Bartlesville Public Library and The Center. The passports contain the Festival schedule as well as fun activities and artist information. The passports also allow Kid’s who attend an Especially for Kid’s event, to have their passport stamped and then get entered into a drawing for special musical themed prizes.
The Especially for Kids Series is free to the public with the exception of the Winnie The Pooh Tea, which is a ticketed event. Seating for the children’s events are limited and is available on a first come first serve basis through reservations at okmmusic.org. Please feel free to call the box office at 918-336-9900.
