As reported by The New York Times, the attack happened on Wednesday, May 8, when the 66-year-old actor was out walking.
Stece Buscemi walks near the corner of Third Avenue and East 27th Street in the Kips Bay neighborhood of New York City until a mysterious man come and punches him in the face.
The attack causes him bruising, swelling, and bleeding to his left eye which later he was taken to a nearby hospital, said Buscemi's publicist.
"Steve Buscemi was assaulted in Midtown Manhattan, another victim of a random act of violence in the city."
Steve Buscemi's publicist said on a statement.
The New York Police Department has confirmed there have been no arrests related to the attack, and investigations are continuing.
However, there are several reports that the attacker was spotted in camera.
