So I've seen a lot of people wondering about the slow-ish promo and the rollout for Cowboy Carter. Wondering if we'll get an official vinyl package like we got with Renaissance, where the film is, will there be a tour for Cowboy Carter, etc etc.
One of my fave things to do is watch album and performance reactions on YouTube and I've noticed at least a dozen new fans (and mostly middle aged white men) who freely admitted to never really giving her a chance before. They listened to Cowboy Carter and are now going back through 20 YEARS OF MUSIC to catch up! 😂
It's wild and very fun, but it makes me wonder if that's why there seems to be a bit of a pause. Cowboy Carter is shaping up to be Beyoncé's defining record and is catching the ear of generations of people who refused to listen for a long time. So this pause seeems to be giving them the time to catch up! They're having watch parties and opening up to other artists because of her which is beautiful to see.
All I know for sure is the audience at the tour is gonna be diveeeeerse! 😂 🤠
Just something I think about, what do y'all think? And for those of you who watch reactions, what are some of your faves? I'm looking for more good Homecoming/Coachella ones!
ETA: This thread was not started to talk about whether or not Bey is a flop? It wasn't the intent and I'm not sure how we got there but let's not! 😮💨 It's simply a way to discuss her mind! Bey is her own lane and I'm not trying to compare her to any of these other fools. We all know her end game, I just wanna know how she plans to get there and I'm equal parts impatient and nosey! 💁🏾♀️ Let's keep it qt and fun!

I guess people forgot/are not aware that she did exactly the same thing with Renaissance. She dropped the album, then disappeared and we were all joking that she really quit her job as she announced in BMS. Then she came back with the tour and everyone started talking about it again.

How long was it in btwn the album release, the vinyl and the tour tho? I remember it being like September and people knew about the tour by the end of the year. This came out in March and it's June and there's no word on the vinyl package or anything. It's like because the scope of the album changed, everything changed and they're trying to regroup almost? Idk. The vinyl package is really what's interesting to me. I know there's got to be an act II official one coming but I can't wrap my head around why the wait with no comms?

Okay finally somebody on here said it lol, I have been LIVING for these reactions 😂 I got tired of bombarding my husband every 5 mins with “listen to this” and “look at how amazing she is”, so now I satisfy myself with these reaction videos instead. The Welp guys are EVERYTHING! The one who just LUSTS cracks me up and the other brings out the fly swatter, I crack up! 😂 The funny thing is they keep saying they don't like r&b but then say they like motown, Michael Jackson and they were raised during the 80s and 90s so I don't have a clue what they think r&b is! 😂
When they were discussing if Jay ever cheated I was like oh nooooo! 😂 They're great tho, I think they want to do Homecoming or Coachella. I'm really excited.

You’re gonna love Juke, I think he’s a recent Bey fan but his reactions are so adorable and funny, esp when he starts drooling over her hahaha. I think the first video I watched was his Renaissance album reaction but his reaction to Coachella was everything and he is very wholesome. I literally watch these every night just kicking my little feet 🤣

Songs from a suitcase is pretty good but sometimes she can be a bit obtuse. Fabrizio Salerno is cool too! And there are two newish guys zmoovey! They were fantastic!
Shawn Reacts is also great but he cried at 16 Candles and I haven't heard from him since! 😂 😭

I know it was what made me a fan (20M cis white gay) - Sasha Fierce was the first album I listened to cause I knew a lot of the songs already, and I thought it was decent, but I devoured Cowboy Carter on my first listen through. That almost never happens for me. Since then I’ve gone back and appreciated all this music I’d heard about but never fully listened to and I have just been in awe. If you had told me at the end of last year that Bey would be my most listened artist of 2024 it would’ve been hard to believe but at the moment it’s looking that way.
Renaissance was the one that brought back back firmly into the fold, but this album is literally introducing her to people I went to middle school with! 😂 While I was listening to The Writings on the Wall they were waving it off and being dismissing and now they're like omg it was actually good! 😂
I agree renaissance really brought me in! I always knew lemonade was a masterpiece but I have one off albums with a lot of artists - Renaissance really made me realize what a gem Beyoncé is as an artist - it’s crazy her music is just getting better after a 27 year career! It was exciting getting to anticipate Cowboy Carter and listen to it opening day with the rest of the Hive 🫶 really blessed to be a part of this community now
Same! I respected Lemonade and new it was a gem it just didn't resonate with me personally. Renaissance changed my world! 😂 And with Cowboy Carter she just keeps getting BETTER! I can't wait to see what's next!

Her second single 2 most wanted is doing horribly on the charts, no one is really listening to it, her daily listens have dropped down to like 2,000,000 despite her having a new album out, Texas Hold Em hasn’t reached 300 million streams despite being out for like 5 months now. Her album is about to be booted out of the top 10 of the billboard 200 and the album has only been out for 6 weeks. That’s not good for an artist of her caliber/popularity.
Cowboy Carter has over a billion streams and its still growing. I do find it odd that there's no more promo for II Most Wanted which was part of my original question, she has really important features so I don't see her not doing more but she might be waiting for the summer.

The album hit a billion streams but for comparison Ariana Grandes album amounted to a billion streams in less time. Same with Taylor Swift. Crossing a billion streams with a new album for a popular artist isn’t that hard, again for an artist of her calibre it should be performing better. Renaissance for example has been out for two years now and has not been able to reach 3 billion streams yet. The album has yet to go platinum. Again I’m talking about an artist of her caliber which is suppose to be the biggest music artist in the world.
Sadly I believe this too and this post album release rollout is atrocious… I don’t get how she spends 5 years working on something just to let it be a drop in the ocean once it comes out.
She doesn’t want to promote her albums anymore. I can respect that. She has done all the promo in the world previously and she’s just over it.
She doing promo though she flying all over the world and planting seeds for something, we just don't know for what. She's just taking her time and I'm wondering if one of the reasons is to give some of her former detractors a chance to catch up?
I truly believe that we will get something mindblowing to cap off Act I and Act II. We have to be patient. And if not, oh well, I won't lose sleep.
That doesn’t really make sense though does it? She clearly pushed Texas Hold Em on the radio to get that number 1 so she does care about charts to a certain degree. The song has drastically dropped in charts after it was taken off of radio which I don’t know why she did that. She also did two album signings. And she had four album variants plus CDs and CD box sets to maximize sales. If she didn’t care about promo or sales she wouldn’t have put those out. And if you don’t do promo no one outside of her core fanbase which is about 200,000 people are going to buy her music which means she’s not making much money. Also if no one is listening to her album how can she expect to ever win album of the year when the majority of the GP hasn’t really listened to any songs besides Texas Hold Em? It’s stupid not to promote her music. She also again would have better tour sales if she actually promoted her music too.
I’m sure she’s aware of all of this and clearly has no desire to change and go back to promoting so why worry if the general public is listening when it’s clear she ain’t. let her play the game the way she wants ain’t no skin off our backs
But we also know that's not her, and there are very important features on this album that she's not just going to let go unheard so clearly there's an overall plan we're just not privy to. I'm just pontificating as to what it could be.
I think that the whole point if you want to listen you go find that drop in the ocean if you don’t want to listen don’t. She has no interest in shoving it down people’s throat. I think she likes to release and sit back and watch the fan reactions
I generally agree but I feel like this project is her thesis, she wants people to experience this on a large scale. That's why the movie on wide release, that's why the 3 act structure, these albs are a lesson, she's teaching and I'm here for it.
I’m sure that’s what she wants to do :) it’s just sad for me as a fan to see streams going down so fast. I’d love for her music to reach more people, and a little bit of promo won’r hurt.
I know she doesn’t care about the charts anymore, did haeavy promo up untile 2013 etc.

Ummm no it isn’t. It had the highest first week sales before Taylor. But the first week sales are not that big for an artist or her size. And since then the sales have dropped off drastically. It’s only been 6 weeks.

I don’t think there’s gonna be a CC tour. She’ll tour at the end of act 3 and include cowboy Carter. If anything there will be a residence in Vegas
Actually Idk, you remember that footage where she was clearly practicing Ya Ya? So at one point she clearly planned for it. I don't knot that she'll do CC on its own so maybe it will flow seamlessly into whatever the Rock album is? It might be harder to your CC as it is bc of the features?
