Ash Clouds Spew From Indonesia's Mount Ibu

Mount Ibu on the island of Halmahera, Indonesia, erupted on Monday, May 13, sending huge clouds of ash into the sky.

Indonesia’s Multiplatform Application for Geohazard Mitigation and Assessment (MAGMA) said the eruption occurred at 9:12 am.

The height of the ash column observed was 5,000 meters above the peak, or 6,325 meters above sea level, MAGMA said.
