TWICE’s Dahyun Bags Lead Role in Korean Remake of “You Are the Apple of My Eye”

TWICE’s Dahyun is set to star as the female lead in the Korean adaptation of the much-loved Taiwanese film “You Are the Apple of My Eye,” promising to infuse new life into the cherished romantic tale.

The original film, helmed by Giddens Ko and released in Korea in 2012, won over audiences with its touching portrayal of young love and first romance.

The narrative revolves around a school troublemaker, Ko Ching-teng, and an honor student, Shen Chia-yi, whose relationship blossoms from classmates to something deeper over time.

Dahyun will step into the shoes of the honor student, a character universally admired and initially overseen by her peers, echoing Shen Chia-yi from the original.

This role signifies a major milestone in Dahyun’s acting journey, as she embraces a character adored by fans of the original film.

This casting news follows closely on the heels of Dahyun’s acting debut announcement in the independent feature film “Sprint,” where she shares screen space with Ha Seok-jin and Lee Sin-young.

In “Sprint,” she takes on the challenging role of an athlete, adding a sports drama to her expanding acting repertoire.

Excitement around Dahyun’s shift from K-pop idol to actress is mounting as she gears up to take on this new role in a genre adored by fans across Asia.

With her acting debut in “Sprint” and now the lead in a youth romance, Dahyun is fast emerging as a significant figure in the film industry.
