I saw Sublime at Trax in Charlottesville around this time. Bradley Nowell was beyond fucked up, chugging beers and playing some of the show flat on his back. Then someone in the crowd yelled “Sublime sucks!” And he leapt off the stage and tried to beat the kid up. He was dead not too long after that.
Saw him at 9:30 club in DC around then too. He was gone, man. Staggering and leaning on everything. I didn’t get to see him beat on a kid, though.
