Cork-based human resource firms Kelly Services Ireland and HubHive have been acquired by international firms in separate deals.
A longstanding temporary and permanent staffing supplier to businesses across Cork and Galway, Kelly Services confirmed its acquisition by Italian HR giant Gi Group Holding as it seeks to enter the Irish market. Founded more than 40 years ago, Kelly specialises in providing staff for businesses within the life sciences, renewables and engineering industries.
It will shortly begin operating as Gi Group Ireland, with the existing Kelly team being maintained.
"We are proud to be leading the introduction of Gi Group into the Irish Market. With this change comes the opportunity to expand our current portfolio of services for the benefit of our clients and candidates both now and in the future,” said Ben Forde, operations director for Kelly Services Ireland.
Separately, Belgian recruitment platform Jobtoolz has acquired Hirehive, a Cork startup founded by John Dennehy which provides software for recruitment and applicant tracking. Its clients include small firms up to large Fortune 500 companies. Jobtoolz was acquired by the UK's Invincible Software Holdings (ISH) last year.
John Dennehy, founder of Hirehive, said: "I'm delighted for Hirehive to become part of ISH. We are lucky to have a wonderful customer base who have trusted us with their recruitment process. This collaboration will help accelerate Hirehive's growth internationally and provide our customers with enhanced resources and support."
He was advised in the deal by Sam Hunt of Eden Capital and Adrian Wall of Regan Wall.
Adam Reynolds, co-founder of ISH, said the addition of HubHive customers concentrated in the UK, Ireland and the USA, would allow them to significantly expand their geographical reach.
