The Ones That Stay‘ is the latest album from Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters, their seventh release in total and it’ll be available in August.  ‘Pocket Song‘ is the latest single, previewing the album  It’s a thoughtful and reflective country tinged roots rock song with Amanda Platt reflecting on how things can carry on for years in the same way: “I came here to be teachable, so teach me?  / I know it seems the lessons seldom ever reach me.

Amanda Anne Platt told Americana UK that: “I wrote this song for my grandmother during the pandemic when I couldn’t visit her. It’s kind of a crooked little tune but I love how it turned out so much, it might be my favourite track on the album.

Performing along with Platt, The Honeycutters are Matt Smith (pedal steel and electric guitars), Rick Cooper (bass/vocals), Evan Martin (drums/vocals), and Kevin Williams (keys/vocals).

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
