Formula 1 has been around since the 1950s and over the years, has seen quite a few world-class drivers take part. It has always been a debate as to who is the all-time best driver in the sport but amidst this, the eight-time Grand Prix winner Daniel Ricciardo, has decided to come up with his dream team!

The reigning world champion Max Verstappen and the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, are seen by many as the best drivers the sport has ever seen. However, this is not the case in the eyes of Daniel Ricciardo.

The 34-year-old was recently asked to name his F1 dream team and to the surprise of many, he took the following names!

I think Mario Andretti is one that I always admired for like doing both championships, the American stuff and the F1 stuff, being a champion. I think he was very multi-dimensional as a race car driver. I’d put him in there. Then I’d go… it’s [Ayrton] Senna or [Michael] Schumacher, I feel like they’re the obvious ones. Let’s say Schumacher, because I feel everyone will say Senna.

Ricciardo’s choice for his dream team might seem a bit out of the box for some fans but considering that Mario Andretti and Michael Schumacher are former world champions, it is not too difficult a decision to fathom. Moreover, the latter is equal in terms of championships won with Hamilton.

The Honey Badger has been racing in F1 since 2011.

The short answer would be fastest cars in the world, kind of thing. As a kid I was aware they were the fastest specially-built race cars and that just fascinated me. That carried a bit of an aura about it and I wanted to experience it.

Ricciardo was once deemed by many as a special talent destined for greatness, but ever since joining McLaren in 2021, his career has taken a massive dip. Firstly, he was ousted by the papaya outfit at the end of 2022 and since making his return with VCARB (AlphaTauri), he has failed to make a strong impression.

The 34-year-old is eyeing a Red Bull seat for the 2025 F1 season. However, keeping in view the form of Sergio Perez and the other candidates for the seat, it seems very unlikely that Ricciardo would be able to secure a seat alongside the prolific Max Verstappen for next year.
