Ranchi/Jamshedpur/Bokaro: A total of 92.96% students have passed the CBSE Class 10 examination across the state. Out of the 71,496 students, who appeared in it, 66,460 students successfully cleared the exam. Once again, the girls have outshone the boys, with a pass percentage of 94.32% for girls compared to 92.05% for boys.
This year, there has been a decrease in the pass rate from 94.45% to 92.96%.
However, last year, a total of 66,761 students took the examination, whereas this year, the number increased to 71,496 students.
Among the registered students, 43,199 boys appeared in the examination, out of which 42,857 took the exam and 39,449 passed. On the other hand, out of 28,813 girls who registered for the examination, 27,011 girls passed.
The CBSE Class X examination commenced on Feb 15 and concluded on March 13. It was conducted at 23 different centres in Ranchi. Over 13,000 students from the Ranchi zone appeared in the Class X examination.
At Oxford Public School, 81 students achieved more than 90% out of a total of 285 students who took the board examination. In the Class X examination at Kairali School, a total of 278 students participated and successfully passed.
At Surendranath Centenary School, out of 217 students who took the examination, 65 scored above 90%. At DAV Public School, Bariatu, out of 326 students who took the board examination, 71 achieved scores exceeding 90%.
From Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, 358 students appeared in the Class X board examination, with 89 students scoring above 450 marks. At Delhi Public School, 367 students participated in the exam, with 107 students achieving scores above 95%. 141 students from Tender Heart School scored above 90% out of a total of 407 students.
In Jamshedpur, Khushi and Shreya from DAV Public School, NIT campus topped with 98.8 %. "It has been good though there has been a minute dip of .5 % in the scores as compared to that in the last year," said principal of DAV Public School, Pragya Singh.
Teachers of Holy Cross School were a happy lot as its student Shagun Kumari secured 99% to become both the school and district topper in CBSE Class 10 examination, the results of which were declared on Monday.
