Highlander heartthrob turns real-life vigilante during touring production of Batman Live.

Stick that in bagpipe, Outlander fans! Sam Heughan, better known as the dashing Jamie Fraser, proved he’s more than just a pretty face when he transformed into a real-life superhero during his stint as Batman.

While Outlander’s Jamie Fraser may wield a claymore with finesse, it turns out that Sam Heughan, the man behind the tartan, is no stranger to heroic acts off-screen.

Long before he donned the kilt, Sam took on the mantle of the Dark Knight in the touring production of Batman Live back in 2012.

But it wasn’t the stage where he truly showcased his crime-fighting prowess. Oh no, it was at an HMV shop where he truly became a caped crusader!

A shoplifter attempted to make off with some DVDs, but our valiant hero was having none of it. Heughan sprang into action, thwarting the thief’s escape and making a citizen’s arrest that lasted a whopping 15 minutes!

Taking to social media, the Highlander heartthrob recounted the tale, writing: “Browsing in HMV. Thief tries to steal DVDs. Bouncer stops him. Thief decides to fight bouncer. Then me. I threw him, then held him down. I left when cops arrived. Beat that status update.”

Even his Outlander co-star Caitriona Balfe couldn’t help but be impressed by his crime-fighting escapade.

During a game of Who knows the other better? with New York Magazine, Balfe correctly guessed that Sam performed a citizen’s arrest during his Batman days.

She even recalled the specifics, quipping: “Some guy was stealing something from HMV?” to which Sam confirmed: “Yeah, I think it was.”

While Heughan may have traded in his bat cape for a kilt, his heroic deeds continue to inspire fans both on and off the screen.

As Outlander enters its seventh season, audiences eagerly await the return of their favorite time-traveling romance.

And fear not, Sassenachs, the wait is almost over! With a newly released trailer confirming the show’s return in November, it seems our adventures with Jamie and Claire are far from over.

You can watch Outlander on Lionsgate+ which is a 'channel' on Amazon Prime Video that will cost you an extra £5.99 per month on top of your Amazon Prime subscription (£7.99 per month).
