Catch Up With ‘That ‘70s Show’ Cast!

Find out which of the '70s costars are married, and which returned to 'That '90s Show'!

Although this series is a classic from the 90s, the plot is anything but that. That ‘70s Show, set in the suburbs of Wisconsin, follows an eclectic group of teens dealing with the emerging realities of growing up. The sitcom offered laughs and mishaps for eight seasons straight, from 1998 to 2006, and the That ‘70s Show cast created some of today’s biggest stars.

The sitcom is remembered for its hilarious lines, from “I said good day!” and “Burn!” to “Damn Jackie, I can’t control the weather!” The cast also had some memorable fashion choices, being based in the 1970s.

Audiences got to see the beginnings of power couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. The actors, who have a six-year age difference, were also paired as a couple on-screen, as Jackie and Kelso. Of course, in real life Kunis was 14 and Kutcher was 20 when the series began, so the their real-life relationship didn’t begin until 2012.

The Emmy-winning series was a massive hit due to its relatability and hilarious characters. Its popularity lived on, too, as the show was rebooted in 2023 with a new cast as That ‘90s Show. While almost all of the original characters made guest appearances, some returned for the entirety of the series.

The main character of the That ‘70s Show cast was Topher Grace as Eric Forman. The actor got his start in show business with this major role, Grace sharing, “I was at a boarding school in New Hampshire and the girl who did the sets, her parents were big-time Hollywood producers and produced That ’70s Show and Third Rock From the Sun … I’d never auditioned for anything in my life.” He explained that he received a call to audition and that was that.

A few of his memorable roles after leaving That ‘70s Show include Spider-Man 3 (2007), Valentine’s Day (2010), The Big Wedding (2013) and Home Economics (2023). Laura Prepon, who portrayed Donna Pinciotti on That ‘70s Show, also got her start on the 90s sitcom. Prepon recalled the reason the show’s creators gave her the role, sharing that it was down to two words she said in her audition. “At the end of the audition, I looked at them and I said, ‘We good?’ And I put my hands on the table and I pushed off like a total tomboy. It was just how I got up from my table. They said that sealed the deal.”

Some of her roles following That ‘70s Show include October Road (2008), Orange is the New Black (2019) and The Girl on the Train (2016). The actress reprised her ‘70s character in three episodes of the reboot. Prepon married Ben Foster in 2018 and the couple has two children together.

Mila Kunis may have the most original audition story of all. The actress, who played Jackie Burkhart, addressed the rumor that she lied about her age in her audition. Kunis explained, “I’d like to make it very clear now that I did lie … I was like, ‘Oh P.S., I’m 14.’ But if you talk to the creators, they were like, ‘We loved you at that point, so what did we care?’”

Lucky for audiences, too, because starring on That ‘70s Show secured Kunis’ career. Prior to the sitcom, Kunis had minor roles in Days of Our Lives (1994) and 7th Heaven (1997). After That ‘70s Show, her film career skyrocketed, with credits that include Black Swan (2010), Friends with Benefits (2011), Bad Moms (2016) and Luckiest Girl Alive (2022). The actress has also been a main voice on the sitcom Family Guy since season two in 1999. Kunis also returned for That ‘90s Show (2023).

The actress recalled when she realized she liked her now husband, Ashton Kutcher, as more than a friend and costar. “I was looking around [at the Golden Globes Awards], and there was a really beautiful man from the back. I was literally like, ‘Oh, he’s kinda hot’ … and then he turned around, and I was like, “Oh my Kod, it’s Kutch.’” Kunis married Kutcher in 2015 and the couple has a son and daughter together.

Will you be open to playing Fez again?’ I was like, ‘Can I still do the voice?’”

Right after the show ended, Valderrama booked the series Handy Manny (2012), which went on for six years. He later had roles in The Girl Is in Trouble (2015) and Grey’s Anatomy (2016). Like many of his costars, Ashton Kutcher got his start playing Michael Kelso or ‘Kelso’ on That ‘70s Show. When debating whether to reprise his role for the reboot, he and wife, Kunis, considered it. “Mila and I were contemplating it. We thought, ‘Listen, we’re only in the position that we’re in because of that show, so let’s just go back and do this.’ We jwent back and had fun for a week.”

While starring on the series, Kutcher’s film career began to skyrocket, starring in movies like Just Married (2003), My Boss’s Daughter (2003) and A Lot Like Love (2005). Kutcher ultimately left the series early in season 8 to focus on his blossoming movie career, returning only for the series finale.
