What are the odds the team was hung over?
Seriously. Sloppy handles, errant passes, passes to nobody, energy was lackluster. Antman had some spurts but even by his standards he seemed weighed down. They let the Nugs set the tone from the start, it was depressing. My only thoughts watching were that they HAD to have been partying prematurely over the past two victories and then reaping what they'd sown/sewn/idk. Mike Conley showed up, but maybe his religiousness kept him from partying lol. Gobert had some looks and didn't get the passes, and even when he did it got messy.
I hope that it was an error of youth and a lesson learned because the job isn't over and against this Denver team, there is very little room for error. They came back from TWO 3-1 deficits last year.
Idk about hung over per se, but I do think that the extra time off hurt. They had enough time to forget how hungry they were and were too confident that the series was over. They also had all this good press that they have never had.
It's the playoff equivalent of those 3rd quarter collapses they would get last year. They didn't do that over games and I think they will bounce back.
They were never going to win 16 games in a row. The Nuggets are the defending champions for a reason, Wolves in 4 sounds nice but it was never that likely. We had plenty of off games this season, it’s just a matter of how they bounce back tomorrow.
Hungover from success and celebration, not partying. They just had a huge weekend in Denver and then celebrated multiple teammates winning awards, plus the hype of playing at home after 2-3 weeks.
Going into the game I thought Rudy might be off, he had a whirlwind week plus he had played like one game in two weeks heading into game 3.
Yea he looked a bit rusty but should be fine
speaking as a dad myself, it just has to factor that our two best players have infants at home
