When it comes to awards competitions in the liquor industry, none is more sought after and respected than the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Receiving a high-tier medal at SFWSC is something brands across the world strive for and proudly advertise.

Brands across the world hope their expressions win a coveted Double Gold Medal, which are awarded to candidates that receive a Gold Medal rating by every member of the judging panel. What is a Platinum Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition?

SFSWC judges award spirits Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals. The description of a spirit earning a Gold Medal is “Exceptional spirits that are near the pinnacle of achievement; these products set the standard for their categories.”

As mentioned above, Double Gold Medals are awarded to those that receive a Gold Medal rating by every member of the judging panel.

Platinum Medals are awarded to any expression that receives a Double Gold Medal three years in a row. These expressions are not only great, but consistently so, year after year.
