Texas Longhorns Viewed As Top-15 Team After Transfer Portal Haul

The Texas Longhorns saw their season end in the second round of the NCAA Tournament this past season.

On top of the fact it was disappointing they couldn't build off of their deep run the year prior, they ended up falling to the Rick Barnes-coached Tennessee Volunteers. They did lose some key players like former five-star Dillon Mitchell (Cincinnati) and Tyrese Hunter (Memphis), but head coach Rodney Terry made sure to build up the roster again this offseason. He put together a portal class that is ranked as the No. 8 transfer portal class complimented by a recruiting class headlined by five-star Tre Johnson.

All of the talent that they added is one of the main reasons that they were ranked as one of the top 25 teams in On3's way-too-early top 25.

On3's James Fletcher III identified the top 25 teams and their biggest additions and losses. The Longhorns were ranked as the No. 12 team in the country with Johnson and Arkansas transfer Tramon Mark being highlighted as the two biggest.

The key losses according to Fletcher were the aforementioned duo of Hunter and Mitchell, as well as Max Abmas.

With Terry heading into his second full season as the head coach, the expectations in Austin for this team may be as high as they have been in quite some time.
