Netflix has once again updated its Top 10 most-watched movies of the week, featuring several new titles as well as some classics, such as the science fiction thriller “Upgrade” with Logan Marshall-Green.

The title combines elements of action and has been praised for its innovative use of camera work and choreography in the combat scenes, which reflect the precise and mechanical movements of Grey under the control of STEM.

It is also notable for its engaging narrative and mix of dark humor. It had a modest budget and was well-received by critics, gaining a cult following for its creative approach and its effective execution of a classic revenge premise.

Upgrade” is a science fiction and action film directed by Leigh Whannell, which was released in 2018 but has become one of the most-watched movies on Netflix in the American catalog this week, reaching the Top 3.

Flix Patrol reported on the afternoon of May 17 that the thriller has become the third most-watched production on the streaming service, surpassing other titles such as Thelma the Unicorn, Dumb and Dumber To, and Shrek.

The story follows Grey Trace (played by Logan Marshall-Green), a mechanic who becomes a quadriplegic after a violent assault that also results in the death of his wife, Asha (played by Melanie Vallejo).

Desperate and with no options, he is contacted by Eron Keen (played by Harrison Gilbertson), a reclusive tech genius who offers him a radical solution: an experimental implant called STEM.

The movie is set in the near future where advanced technology is omnipresent. As Grey delves into the criminal underworld to uncover the truth, STEM begins to exhibit signs of autonomy.
