This season is like the perfect follow up of why Michele beat Aubrey in edgic

Aubrey (Charlie) got all the strategic content and it had non-edgic watchers convinced she’d easily win at the end.

On the contrary Michele (Kenzie) was getting just as much content despite not being nearly as significant to the actual game.

Kenzie and Michele weren’t some all time characters doing crazy stuff either, but they were presented as main characters and good players.

Kenzie's edit is much better than Michele's - I would say that Kenzie's edit is what Michele SHOULD have gotten. It would have made her a much better winner. Michele did not get nearly the amount of screentime that Kenzie is getting; they're practically shoving Kenzie down our throats. And it wasn't a universal edgic call; I remember there being the "Michele Truthers" but there were other opinions too.

Kenzie is even being noticed by casuals. On the main sub, while most seem to think Charlie, there are many who go with Kenzie. And most people can see that its between Charlie, Maria and Kenzie. I even see things like, "I'd be happy with any of the three winning", or "I want Charlie but I'd be ok with Kenzie", or "Its so great to have 3 worthy winners in the final 5-6". And the same with the casual watchers that I know, yes, most of them think or want Charlie but they would like Kenzie too.

I totally agree here. I think they are actively shoving Kenzie down our throats to make it less controversial if she does beat Charlie persay

Yeah Kenzie already has more confessionals than every female winner in survivor history (currently at 70), and this is before the finale. Granted the episodes are longer, but she’s also above Dee who had 90 minute episodes and basically ran the game start to finish.

Kenzie had the confessional advantage of being on a disaster tribe, which Dee didn't.

Yeah also Kenzie needs more confessionals to be a more satisfying winner, Dee's game was enough on its own and too many confessionals would have made her insanely obvious to viewers IMO

Dee was obvious enough, Emily was her only realistic competition edit-wise.

Michele's edit was very strong for a player who never went to tribal. We checked in with her constantly. She got confessionals that could have constantly gone to other people. The only difference is Kenzie was on a tribe that always lost and Michele wasn't.

Why should Michele have gotten more screen time? I think she got enough, and was mostly CP, so we always knew where her head was at. Even though she wasn’t that important to the season. I don’t think every winner needs a big edit

I remember how shook the larger community was when Aubry ended up losing. Most people thought it was a slam dunk by the finale. If we are on this trajectory once again, I hope the winner’s social prowess is prominent enough at the end even if the framing is “Why X lost”

I do think they are doing a better job of shoving Kenzie’s strengths down our throat

Kenzie's story is told way better than Michele's IMO, I'm actually so happy they gave a social female winner such a fantastic edit (assuming she wins). I know a lot of people are going to walk away from this season thinking of Q, Liz, Venus first and foremost, but for me I'm just so happy to see Kenzie have such a great narrative to convey the type of game she's played.

I agree there

Yeah she's gotten an insanely good edit for someone who will be a social winner, yet will likely still be seen as a meh winner to a lot of people.

I think the moral of the story is strategic content trumps social content every time, and thus strategic winners are always going to have "better" edits. But they have done a damn good job with Kenzie compared to someone like Gabler who was a similar type of social winner that went largely unnoticed

I think it’s at least in part to the longer episodes tho

Honestly, the shock was more so that she came second. Lots of people thought it was going to be a final 2 like Cagayan given the medevacs. So, a lot of people expected her to be third place/final juror or the winner.

Kenzie feels like she's gotten so much more focus and SPV from others, especially pre merge when when Michele was rarely shown (mostly because of original tribe success).

That's the difference really. Disaster tribes will always get more opportunities edit wise than a tribe that never loses. And it's worked out for Kenzie because it's allowed her game to be on display from beginning to end

Yeah Kenzie gives off Michele vibes and they’re edits are so similar besides the challenge ability they are very similar

I agree. Kenzie is so similar to Michele edit wise. Constant check ins when they aren't relevant. Way more credit than you would expect.

It truly does feel like Kenzie over Charlie following that same edit line. Which means we will be hearing about this one for years upon years as well.

The thing is there is a vast difference in both of their journeys. Michele didn't experience losing consecutively as Kenzie was so of course, the casuals didn't gravitate towards her, Aubry was the one experiencing them.

Good point! And Siga was the boring tribe that coasted through most of the pre-merge

I'm surprised people are so convinced Kenzie beats Charlie at FTC and not in fire-making or him going at final 5. I do think Kenzie is winning at this point, but she's likely going to be an unpopular winner if she beats the main strategic force (Charlie) who is playing an insanely clean game. Maybe on par with Cassidy/Gabler?
