Minnesota-Duluth's Quinn Olson signs PTO with Ontario Reign - The Hockey News NCAA Skip to main content

Minnesota-Duluth forward Quinn Olson has signed a professional try-out with the Ontario Reign, the team announced Tuesday.

A product of Calgary, Alb., Olson played in 37 games for the Bulldogs this past season, scoring four goals and adding 17 assists for 21 points. Across his five seasons in the NCAA, he had 27 goals and 96 points in 175 career games.

After his season concluded, Olson initially joined the Reign for their game on Apr. 12 before being sent to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, the Reign's ECHL affiliate.

With the Swamp Rabbits, Olson played in six playoff games with the team, collecting four points before the team was eliminated in the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Back with the Reign, Olson was added to their playoff roster but it remains to be seen if he will see the ice. Olson proved he could be a difference maker in the ECHL and it wouldn't hurt the Reign to see how he would fare in a high-pressure environment.
