Artist Nick Ross' Ghostbusters: Ectocism comic series continues, download Issue #2 now - Ghostbusters News

Previously on Ghostbusters News, we reported on the digital release of artist Nick Ross’s fan-made graphic novel Ghostbusters: Ectocism, and now, in a follow-up, the second issue is available to download and, best yet, entirely free!

Picking up at a spooky, foreboding, and seemingly ghost-infested mansion, the Ghostbusters must investigate paranormal happenings after a seance goes awry (or perhaps exactly as intended), conjuring up a familiar-looking blues-loving specter. While the foursome may be back together, their need to keep a low profile keeps them from taking hold of the iconic Proton Packs, instead using the Ecto Goggles, PKE Meter, and maybe even a new gadget or two to investigate an unknown supernatural threat.

To read Issue #2, a PDF file is available here. Alternatively, you can find it on Ross’ Instagram or Facebook pages, while a sneak peek is available below.

Like the inaugural issue, the comic’s overall design will likely catch attention first. The 300-page adventure, set to be spread across nine issues, is brought to life through oil paintings, digitally adorned by cover art pastiches paying homage to other pop-culture films and franchises. Joining Peter, Ray, Winston, and Egon, all of whom are based on the appearance of their big-screen counterparts, is a supporting cast that takes heavy inspiration from various Hollywood actors, among the most obvious includes Jennifer Tilly as hostess Gwendelyn and Steve Buscemi serving as the just introduced character of Calvin.

While not canon, again, Ghostbusters: Ectocism is 100% fan-made; the story offers a fun take on what could’ve happened following the events of 1989’s Ghostbusters II, with this massive undertaking not only seeing Ross taking on the role of the artist but also penning the story.
