Rick Scott accuses Biden of joining ‘pro-Hamas’ side of Democratic Party

.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) has accused President Joe Biden of appeasing the “pro-Hamas” side of the Democratic Party, adding that his handling of the war in Gaza contributes to his failing track record.

Scott’s claim against Biden comes after the president indicated the United States would no longer provide Israel with bombs and artillery shells should Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launch an invasion of Rafah, Gaza. The Florida senator argued that Israel has “no choice” but to destroy Rafah to destroy the Hamas terrorist group should Israel wish to provide peace for its country.

“I’ve always believed that Biden is unfortunately now part of the pro-Hamas wing of his party that’s all they’re worried about is, he’s worried about winning the presidential election,” Scott said on Fox News Sunday. “Thank God for President Trump. He’s one of the most pro-Israel presidents in our in our history, and I hope he wins so we can get somebody in there that’s going to support Israel.”

Scott said that Biden’s handling of the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas contributes to Biden’s record, which he argued the president cannot win when compared to former President Donald Trump’s record. Besides the ongoing conflict abroad, Scott pointed to Biden’s handling of securing the border and the United States’s “unbelievable” inflation.

Trump is the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party heading into the presidential election, meaning a rematch between him and Biden is likely. At a rally in New Jersey on Saturday, Trump called on Biden to return all the donations he has allegedly received from those who have financed the anti-Israel campus protests.

Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) has filed articles of impeachment against Biden over his decision to withhold the delivery of weapons to Israel. Mills pointed to how Democrats impeached Trump during his presidency after the former president withheld aid to Ukraine in exchange for announcing an investigation into the Biden family.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has defended Biden’s decision, arguing that the U.S. is “in active conversations with Israel” about these heavy weapons, as well as the consequences of using them in the Gaza area.
