Mary Edith Craig OBITUARY

Mary Edith Craig Carriger of Florence, Oregon passed away on November 17, 2009 at the age of 88. She was surrounded by her family whom she so dearly loved. Her constant smile and positive approach to all challenges will be forever remembered and sincerely missed. Mary was raised, and lived most of her life, in Santa Cruz. Her husband Joseph D. Craig preceded her in death in 1985. She moved with her son, Bill Craig, and his wife to Florence, Oregon in 1989. She had a passion for her new surroundings and loved her new home there. She was the telephone receptionist for Bill Craigs Drafting and Design business until her passing. Her friendly manner always charmed clients and many became her friends. She was a member of the Florence Methodist Chrurch and will be missed by many there. Birthday cards and mail greetings to members were sent by Mary from her bed at home until she could no longer see. Mary’s home was a celebration of each season and holiday. Mary is survived by her four children, Robert Craig of Boulder Creek, William Craig of Florence, Oregon, Barbara Theis of Nampa, Idaho and Steven Craig of Henderson, Nevada; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

As was her wish, Mary’s remains were donated for study at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. She called this her teaching experience and was truly excited by the prospect of serving in this capacity after death.
