With a harsh transfer window approaching for Everton, selling off players will be a priority to balance the books. Several players could be up for sale as they offer good potential for prospective clubs. One of those players is midfielder Amadou Onana.

According to Transfer Correspondent Pete O'Rourke of FootyInsider247, Onana is garnering interest from Bundesliga side Bayern Munich. Munich is apparently prioritizing the defensive midfield as an area to improve this summer, where Onana "ticks a lot of boxes" according to O'Rourke's reporting.

After Bayern could not close the deal on Joao Palhinha of Fulham last summer and in the January transfer window, Munich is looking for another option, a younger player too.

Onana is a rangy player, who has provided sublime performances this season for the Toffees with exceptional flair. He is unstoppable in the air, winning aerial duels 72% of the time, and is a threat at goal off of set pieces.

At 22 years of age, the next step for him is putting it all together week in and week out. There are performances where he fails to make an impact or his effort level is inconsistent. Onana must develop the mentality to show up for each game with the same energy and focus. His two seasons at Everton have shown incredible flashes of brilliance but there is still room to grow.

A move to Bayern will complete the lighting quick ascension of Onana, who moved to Everton after one season at Lille. Then after two seasons with the Toffees, moving to one of the top clubs in the world. Everton signed Onana last summer for a reported 36 million pounds with a 20% sell-on clause.

Onana might not necessarily find playing time right away with the likes of Aleksandar Pavlovic, Joshua Kimmich, Konrad Laimer and Leon Goreztka in the side. However, his talent will prevail eventually and I could see him as a regular rotation player next season.

The Toffees will demand a large sum for the player, as he is valued at 53 million euros at the moment, but the asking price will surely be higher given Onana's age and potential.

No deal is done as of yet as this is just rumors, but it is expected that Onana is one of the many Everton players who will be considered to selling this summer.
