In the special exhibition Not My Hero, the StadtPalais - Museum für Stuttgart is designing Instagram profiles for seven historical figures from February 23 to September 1, 2024.
how would Rudolf Steiner, Clara Zetkin and Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel have presented themselves in today's social media?
Visitors to the exhibition can click through the Instagram profiles of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Karl Graf von Linden, Clara Zetkin, Rudolf Steiner, Ferdinand Porsche, Hanns Martin Schleyer and Claus Graf von Stauffenberg on oversized smartphones using a touchscreen to scroll through feed posts with images and quotes. In addition, a kind of archive within the exhibition contrasts these seven "heroes"
,allowing visitors to research historical sources themselves on site and discover cracks and inconsistencies in the lives of the seven personalities using original documents, photos and transcripts. Visitors are invited to question the idealized and exaggerated self-portrayals and can marvel at the dazzling heroes and heroines in the exhibition and at the same time uncover inconsistencies in their lives.
