Volunteering opportunities are still available for the 2024 School Games!

School Games are looking for volunteers for the 2024 School Games at Loughborough University from 29th August to 1st September 2024!

About the School Games National Finals 2024

The School Games National Finals 2024 is a multi-sport event for the UK's elite athletes of school age and the aim is to create an inspirational and motivational setting, that not only provides our elite young sports people with the opportunity to thrive and perform at the highest levels but encourages more young people to take part and succeed in sport.

The competition provides the opportunity to experience multi-sport events like the Olympic and Paralympic Games and Commonwealth Games.

Who will be competing?

Eleven sports across 10 National Governing Bodies of Sport are involved in the planning and running of their competitions at this event. Of the sports, three of them (Athletics, Cycling and Triathlon) incorporate disability events and two of them (Wheelchair Tennis and 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball) are Paralympic-only sports. The remaining six sports are BMX, Hockey, Modern Pentathlon (featuring the introduction of the Obstacle Course), Netball and Women's Cricket being joined by 3x3 Basketball making its debut.

This is where you come in!

The School Games National Finals 2024 would not be possible without volunteers.

Flor the event to be delivered successfully, School Games need approximately 200 volunteers who will act as representatives for the event. School Games are looking looking for friendly, outgoing and reliable volunteers to fulfil a variety of roles including venue volunteers, team attaches and games services volunteers. The work can vary from working on the ticket desk, supporting the athletes, providing spectator support, and many other duties.

For most roles, no specific experience is required as training (including safeguarding training) and briefings will be provided to ensure you are fully prepared for your role and responsibilities. You will also be required to complete the relevant checks.

Not only is this a chance to volunteer and contribute to a large UK sporting event, it is also an opportunity for you to upskill yourself and develop both personally and professionally.

As a volunteer, you will receive branded event kit and a packed lunch during your shifts.

Registration

Volunteers need to be 16 or over. As School Games are looking to recruit a large number of event volunteers, they would value your support in volunteering and helping to make the School Games National Finals 2024 happen.
