In a celebration of musical excellence, Apple Music today launched a 10-day countdown to reveal its meticulously curated list of the “100 Best Albums” of all time.
Apple Music emphasizes that this list is a “love letter to the records that have shaped the world music lovers live and listen in,” and is entirely independent of streaming numbers, prioritizing the artistic and cultural impact of each album.
Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s senior director of content and editorial, expressed the significance of the endeavor: “100 Best brings together all the things that make Apple Music the ultimate service for music lovers – human curation at its peak, an appreciation for the art of storytelling, and unparalleled knowledge of music and an even deeper love for it.”
A diverse group of artists, including Maren Morris, Pharrell Williams, J Balvin, Charli XCX, Mark Hoppus, Honey Dijon, and Nia Archives, along with industry professionals, contributed to curating this exceptional list.
A 10-Day Countdown
To build anticipation and share the excitement, Apple Music has embarked on a 10-day countdown, revealing 10 albums each day, starting today with numbers 100 through 91. The initial unveiling offers a diverse range of artists and genres, with a focus on contemporary talents who have left an indelible mark on 21st-century music, including Tyler, the Creator, Robyn, Lorde, Travis Scott, Solange, Burial, and George Michael.

Alongside the countdown, Apple Music has launched a dedicated microsite, 100best.music.apple.com, where music enthusiasts can delve deeper into each album. The site offers in-depth analysis, archival interviews, and opportunities to share favorite albums with friends and on social media.
Apple Music Radio is also embracing the celebration with a full takeover on Apple Music Hits, featuring round-the-clock specials with Apple Music Radio hosts, daily specials at 9 a.m. PT, and exclusive on-demand content on Apple Music and Apple Podcasts.
A Culmination and Continued Celebration
The grand finale will take place on May 22nd, with the reveal of the top 10 albums and a global roundtable discussion featuring Nile Rodgers, Maggie Rogers, Zane Lowe, and Ebro Darden. Zane Lowe will also curate a special DJ mix blending songs from all 100 Best Albums.
Apple Music will continue to honor these musical milestones with an additional week of 100 Best Albums Radio takeover on Apple Music Hits.
