CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) -- To ensure technology integration for quality production, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 2 conducted comprehensive monitoring and validations to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) - Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) beneficiaries in the three provinces of Cagayan Valley.

Engr. Sylvia T. Lacambra, assistant regional director for Field Operation Services, led the monitoring team in visiting 20 MSMEs in the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela and Quirino. 

Lacambra said the initiatives aims to bridge the technology gap by integrating advanced solutions into the local businesses to enhanced the quality of their production.

The SET UP is one of the banner programs of the department that is supporting the MSMEs to undergo upgrading of their production processes and improve the quality of products through acquisition of appropriate equipment, application of DOST-generated technologies, and other interventions and assistances to improve they quality of products produced locally.

“Our collaborative efforts to the MSMEs underscore a collective commitment towards fostering innovation and growth within the local business ecosystem. Moreover, this program actively promotes one of the four pillars of DOST, wealth creation, by empowering Filipinos with the skills and technology to establish and grow businesses,” Lacambra said
