Guv appoints two VCs

Kolkata: In the backdrop of the ongoing tussle with the state govt over appointment of VCs in state universities, Governor CV Ananda Bose on Monday appointed Asutosh Ghosh as VC of Rani Rashmoni Green University in Hooghly’s Tarakeswar. Ghosh was also a state nominee. He has also been given dual charge as the VC of Harichand Guruchand University. The governor – also the chancellor – appointed Kallol Paul as VC of Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University, Jhargram.It was not immediately known whether Paul’s name was on the state nominee list. tnn
