Kenyon College, a co-educational, liberal arts and sciences institution in central Ohio, invites applications for multiple Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director of Admissions positions (title dependent on experience).  These are 12-month, full-time positions in the Office of Admissions. The Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director will participate in a team-oriented working environment through all phases of the recruitment and selection process.  

The individual will convey key institutional messages to prospective students and parents on- and off-campus and cultivate professional relationships with guidance counselors and key educational organizations. The recruitment portfolio will include significant travel (8-10 weeks per year), counseling and advising students and families regarding the admission process, conducting interviews and presentations, maintaining relationships with guidance counselors, and managing a territory throughout the admission cycle.  This admission counselor/director will fully participate in the evaluation of first-year applications. 

The successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in writing and speaking; great organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ideal candidates will have an interest in and commitment to College priorities while representing the interests and needs of prospective students and families. They will have capacity for hard work, be creative and collaborative. The successful candidates will also demonstrate a strong sense of competence with utilizing data in their work and learning new technology and systems to support their efforts. 

An understanding of and appreciation for the values of a residential liberal arts college are essential, including an appreciation and commitment to a diverse and inclusive environment. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. The position requires a willingness to travel and availability for night and weekend work. 

Employment at Kenyon is contingent upon a successful background check. A valid driver's license is also required and candidates must be in a position to pass Kenyon's driver certification.

Salary and title are commensurate with background and experience.
