Anita Ann Smith OBITUARY

Smith Anita Ann Smith, 37, of Hallandale passed away Monday, November 28, 2005. Born January 23, 1968 in Mankato, Minnesota to Gene Davis Lichtenberg and Marion (Beinke) Lichtenberg. After attending Mankato West High School, Anita’s love of animals led to a career as an assistant trainer in the Thoroughbred Racing Industry. Her twelve year cross country career brought her to Gulfstream Park in Hallandale where she met Brian Smith; they were married September 27, 1997. Anita’s animal related work continued as a veterinary technician at both, The Humane Society of Broward County and Animal Hospital of Hallandale. Anita was a member of the executive board Gulfstream American Legion Auxiliary Unit 310. Anita is survived by her husband Brian; mother, Marion Lichtenberg and stepmother, Mary Lichtenberg both of Mankato, MN; sister, Gwenn Perry of Seattle, WA; brother, Robert Lichtenberg of Louisville, KY; along with numerous relatives and many friends. Anita was loved by all and will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 3rd at 4:00 pm at the American Legion Gulfstream Post 310 in Hallandale, 954-454-6444.
