Where to watch the Final 3 compete in the 'American Idol' Season 22 finale

The “American Idol” finale is finally here, with the Top 3 contestants vying to be the winner of Season 22.

Abi Carter, Jack Blocker and Will Moseley will be mentored by Jon Bon Jovi for the three-hour finale.

The last episode saw two contestants leave during Disney Night, during which Judge Katy Perry donned a full Cinderella costume.

This will also be Perry’s last episode as she steps back to focus on her pop career and release new music. The question of who her replacement will be remains unanswered.

In the May 12 Disney Night episode of “American Idol” Season 22, Emmy Russell and Triston Harper were sent home.

Russell sang “The Climb” from “Hannah Montana: The Movie” and “Carried Me with You” from “Onward,” while Harper went with “Almost There” from “The Princess and the Frog” and “Life Is a Highway” from “Cars.”

Unfortunately, those performances didn’t get them the votes they needed to be a part of the Final 3 for this season.

Who will replace Katy Perry on ‘American Idol’?

The judges for Season 22 of “American Idol” are Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. Perry announced that this will be her last season as a judge on the show during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Perry decided to leave because she’d like to focus on her pop career and release new music.

There was no confirmation on who will replace Perry on “American Idol,” but there are rumors that Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift are being considered for the job. Fans also responded to a Feb. 16, 2024, post on X, formerly known as Twitter, by Jordin Sparks saying they wouldn’t mind seeing the 2007 winner in the judges seat.   

Perry said she would love to see Jelly Roll take on the gig. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Bryan and Seacrest have said they wouldn't mind seeing Meghan Trainor take Perry's place.

Richie also weighed in, saying that his wish list consists of Kelly Clarkson or even Swift.

A source told Life & Style that Jon Bon Jovi is a “top contender” for replacing Perry.
