Hi Group - I'm going to be in NL for 3 weeks in June in an RV and I'm looking for recommendations of places to stay and things to see between St John's and Argentia where we catch the ferry back to the mainland. We have the majority of our trip planned and am looking for ideas the last few days of the trip.
Are you covering the Baccalieau trail in your itinerary? A nice drive, and Lockston Path Prov Park is in the neighbourhood for camping. On that loop, you can stop in to the Winterton Boat Builders museum, and the Heart’s Content Cable a station National Historic Site. As well, on the southern Avalon, the Irish Loop is nice, and you’d have a couple of options for camping, at La Manche and Chance Cove Prov Parks. Cape St Mary’s Ecological Reserve is scenic,, and the guided hike in to Mistake Point Ecological Reserve is also worth doing……

55 helpful votes Note re post #1. Lockston Path Park isn’t on the Baccalieu Trail, it’s on the Bonavista Peninsula near Port Rexton. It’s a good camping spot for exploring Trinity and the Bonavista Peninsula.
Yes, my mistake in the first post. But there are a number of campgrounds/rv parks scattered along the Baccalieau trail route that you can make use of…..Backside Pond Park….Golden Arm Park….Stillwater RV Park…..Island Pond RV Park…these are just a few, I’m sure there are more on that peninsula
