James Corden has opened up about his remarkable six stone weight loss journey, having once tipped the scales at over 20 stone.

The beloved Gavin and Stacey star, who recently thrilled fans with the news the BBC sitcom will return later this year, has shared his weight loss secrets.

The 45-year-old managed to shed six stone through a combination of intermittent fasting, boxing, and mindful eating, although he insists he doesn't deny himself any particular foods.

According to the Mirror, James revealed that he starts most days with a boxing session and sometimes only eats an apple for breakfast. He also shared that he doesn't eat until noon each day, starting off with a 15 calorie, sugar-free vitamin drink.

"I have a trainer who I box with most mornings, and so far today I've had an apple. I try to eat healthily and not deprive myself."

"The notion of going on a diet is everything that is wrong because at some point you are going to revert," he told The Sun previously.

"It's like Dry January - it's brilliant if you give up booze for January but in the back of your mind you're like, 'Well, in February I'm going to have a drink'."

James also became an ambassador for WW back in 2022, formerly known as Weight Watchers, as he aligns with their philosophy of not eliminating foods, but rather being more conscious of what you consume.

The comedian isn't just relying on diet and exercise to lose weight; he's also taken up a new practice. He divulged that he completed a four-day transcendental meditation course, which helps achieve "restful alertness".

The former The Late Late Show host relocated back to the UK last year with his three children, Max, Carey, and Charlotte, and his wife Julia Carey. He plans to build his 'dream home' after moving back to his stomping ground from the US.

Elsewhere, fans are gearing themselves up for the return of Gavin and Stacey on the BBC airing this Christmas. James announced the news alongside Ruth Jones, as viewers are desperate to know the ending for Nessa and Smithy.

Holding up a script across their faces, the duo wrote: "Some news… It’s official!!! We have finished writing the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey. See you on Christmas Day, BBC One. Love Ruth and James."
