Late Goal Flurry Sees Young Cherries Overwhelmed by Brentford in 6-2 Loss
11.05.2024 13:29CHERRIES’ young squad faced a tough defeat as they were beaten 6-2 by Brent away from home.
Playing against Brentford’s B team in a memorial match for former Technical Director Robert Rowan, Cherries initially took the lead through a brace from Daniel Adu-Adjei, making it 2-1.
However, Brentford turned the game around in the second half, with Daniel Oyegoke scoring to level the game. Adu-Adjei regained the lead for Cherries with an equalizer before getting ahead with a goal assisted by Kian Tydeman.
Mukhammadali Urinboev equalized for Brentford before Ryan Trevitt’s goals shifted the momentum in their favor. Trevitt scored twice, and Brentford secured the win with additional goals from Max Dickov and Ethan Laidlaw.
The result sees Cherries conclude their season on Tuesday against Crewe Alexandra in the Professional Development League at Vitality Stadium (7.30pm).
